Categories Fashion How To The Power of White 16th May 2017 7 Reasons Why You Should Buy A White Coat Right Now Getting Ready Time: 41 minutes. Most of which I spent trying to locate a pair of fishnet tights and the red lipstick. I reckon the time could be significantly improved by wearing jeans and not being such a pain-in-the-arse-perfectionist when it comes to red lipsticks. Step aside black. You soul-sucking reign is over. May has arrived, and even here in London we are enjoying some good weather and a boost of Vitamin D. And yes, perhaps the sunshine won’t last forever. I’m sure by June I will be back in my ankle boots and maybe even snuggling up in something cashmere. This is London after all. But as of now, I am happy in my delusional belief that the good weather is here to stay. And so, I am swapping my entire winter wardrobe for just a single white coat. Yes, it’s not the most practical item- my clumsy self is the first to admit that your monthly dry cleaning bill will skyrocket. But it’s so worth the hassle. A single white coat will transform your entire wardrobe into something worthy of a movie star from the 1950s. It will add instant glamour, and it’s surprisingly easy to pull off. Reasons to wear white: 1. How can you still not be sick of wearing black? I mean, seriously?! 2. Just like black, white works as a neutral colour, so it will go with absolutely everything. 3. You will instantly stand out from the faceless black-clad crowd. 4. There is also the ‘cool’ factor. Nothing screams ‘living on the edge’ like wearing white, while carrying your morning cappuccino. 5. Surprisingly, it will also make you look friendly and approachable. So if you are single- it is a trend worth investing into. If ‘attached’, you still get a free (sans price of the coat, of course) confidence boost and maybe even some free peonies from your local flower stand. 6. White colours visibly brighten up your face, and after the long six months of rain, I will take all the help I can get. 7. Instant drama. Whether you wear it with a pair of high heels or simple trainers, your outfit will come off as perfectly polished. And there is nothing more important, then that when you are rushing through the door early in the morning, having overslept for the fifth time in a row.
