Why You Should Spend Your Monday In PJs

Why You Should Spend Your Monday In PJs

Ultimate Guy Magnet

Getting Ready Time: 20 minutes. But you have to keep your PJs ironed at all times. Otherwise, you will need extra 15 min for ironing. This is not a trend you can get away being lazy with. ‘Rolled out of bed’ creases will make you look, well… like you just rolled out of bed.

I always have like a good pair of pyjamas. And I am not talking about a sexy little chemise here. I mean a traditional full coverage, sex-is-off-the-table kind. Shirt with the trousers on.

So, when fashion took this trend to the streets, I was overjoyed. Let’s face it, there is something so ultimately ‘I just don’t give a damn’ about wearing PJs outside of your apartment. However, as relaxed as this trend may appear, not any old pyjamas will do the trick. Heading out of the door in your old stretched t-shirt and a pair of your ex’s old boxers will certainly show the world that you don’t give a fuck, but it will make you look neither appealing, not fashionable. And that’s a no go.

Whether you are single, married, divorced or celibate (although if you are, please explain to me why?) there is just no excuse for looking like a total mess. There are so much horror and ugliness in the world, why not try to make the world a slightly nicer place? Even if it is with something so small and silly as clothes. And good news for the fashion forwards girls who are currently looking for love: old-school PJ’s are surprisingly popular with men. Believe me: no one was more surprised than I.

I can certainly understand why so many girls jumped on the pyjama waggon. It’s soft, comfortable and easy to wear. Besides, it gives us a certain ‘I’m just soooo cool’ vibe. But men?!!

After spending a day in Selfridges being approached by all kinds of guys[1], I just had to find out what’s in it for them. So I came home and grilled my husband. And according to him, PJs have the power to make even the most intense girl look relaxed and approachable in a way that no traditional ‘sexy’ dress ever could. It’s cute without being intimidating. Plus, it’s an easy (if not necessarily brilliant) way to start a conversation.

So there you go. Next time you decide to go out why not relax and experiment a little? Why not wear a pair of comfy pyjamas instead of a boring old dress?

How To Wear Pyjamas:

While this trend is quite easy to wear, there are some rules you should follow:

1. Makeup is a yes. You want to look relaxed, but not like you have just rolled out of bed.
2. Keep your bag small-ish. With a large bag, you might just look like you had to jump out of a burning building in a middle of the night, having grabbed all of her most valuable possessions.
3. Heels. Wear them. Low or high doesn’t matter, but keep the heel thin and dainty.
4. You could get away with trainers, but make sure to compensate with a more ‘dressed up’ bag.
5. Keep you PJs perfectly ironed.
6. Stay away from cotton, unless you are on the beach. In the city stick to velvet, silk or cashmere.  7 More Minutes. Fashion, travel and lifestyle blog by Alyona Gasimova. Monday in PJs. I’m wearing: pyjamas by For Restless Sleepers ( they also did this more winter appropriate velvet version, which can take you straight from work to a night out;  I also love these versions from Asos: this one is in velvet and this jumpsuit in silk); Dior shoes, Laimushka bag, LV sunglasses, Aamaya By Priyanka aeroplane pendant.
